My Vegan Thanksgiving

 

Every fall when the leaves are turning This tingling inside me will start It’s merely a longing a yearning A sweet kind of pain in my heart Come November days will get murky But as the skies go losing their light I envision my vegan roast turkey My dearest of friends all around so tonight I’m coming out for the whole world to see I’m revealing my motive to be I confess to my reason for living Thanksgiving, thanksgiving Thanksgiving, thanksgiving Way in advance I picture the table The linnen, the silver, the candles, the wine It’s a fantasy it’s a fable If just for the dishes their taste so divine The carrots tahini, the roasted tomatoes The sautéed zucchini, the baked beans, oh my!
